Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.

During your first session you will meet your treating psychologist.  They will firstly go through some information including confidentiality, and will discuss your reason for referral, your goals for therapy, your personal history.

If you have been referred by your GP under a Mental Health Care Plan, please bring that plan to your first appointment, along with your Medicare care.  This will ensure, that you can receive a Medicare rebate for your session.  This also enables communication between your treating psychologist and GP.

During your first session, its an opportunity for your therapist to learn about you and your story.  You will cover the reasons for your referral, your general background information (including family history, current life situations i.e., working, studying, parenting, single etc) and any goals you might initially have for therapy. Therapy is a collaboratively process whereby you (the client) have all the information and it's up to you to communicate how much you chose to share with your therapist to work towards meaningful change.

My hope is that you feel empowered to work alongside me, as we walk the therapeutic journey together.  I aim to provide psychoeducation and skills training to let your colours of self shine.

Private patients may require a GP referral with a Mental Health Plan to receive rebates.
